An energising, revitalising new addition to Wandsworth celebrating and connecting to the River Wandle.
Our proposals for Wandsworth Gasworks are ambitious. Our masterplan sees the under-used, former gasholder site completely transformed into new homes, 37% of which will be affordable, work spaces and high quality public areas including a lush, new riverside park, with 150 metres of the River Wandle opened up for the first time and a new bridge built to complete the Wandle Trail.
We will build on Wandsworth’s incredible musical and cultural heritage, so we’re including a new music campus in the masterplan which will provide rehearsal, performance and recording facilities.
We will be opening the railway arches – creating an active, inviting area of cafes, restaurants and shops. Everywhere in this animated environment will be buzzing, and alive.
We held our first Gastonbury at Wandsworth Gasworks, sharing the day with old friends and new, as we lock music, and the Neko Trust into our plans - creating a permanent home complete with recording, rehearsal, writing and performance spaces. Here’s a short film of the day.
Local live music charity Neko Trust will breathe life and soul into Wandsworth Gasworks. Watch our short film to find out more about the charity and its collaboration with Common Projects.
