An energising, revitalising new addition to Wandsworth celebrating and connecting to the River Wandle.

Our bold and innovative vision for Wandsworth Gasworks received planning approval from Wandsworth Borough Council in March 2025.

Our masterplan will rejuvenate the former gasholder site by creating 620 new homes, with 40% of designated as affordable housing – as well as 4,250 sqm of dynamic workspace and 9,000 sqm of parks. A highlight will be a serene new riverside park, featuring 150 metres of newly accessible River Wandle and a bridge to complete the Wandle Trail.

Embracing Wandsworth’s rich musical and cultural legacy, we are excited to incorporate a new music campus into the masterplan, which we hope will attract state-of-the-art rehearsal, performance, and recording facilities.

Additionally, we plan to breathe new life into the area by opening up the railway arches, fostering a vibrant atmosphere with a mix of inviting cafes, restaurants, and shops. Our goal is to create a dynamic and bustling environment that hums with energy and vitality.

The Team

Wandsworth Gasworks is a multi-partner project with historic landowner, and gas infrastructure giant, SGN and alternative investment firm Mitheridge.

Masterplan by shedkm with collaborators MAX Architects, Carmody Groarke, BD Landscape Architects, Atelier Ten, Whitby Wood and Quod.

We held our first Gastonbury at Wandsworth Gasworks, sharing the day with old friends and new, as we lock music, and the Neko Trust into our plans - creating a permanent home complete with recording, rehearsal, writing and performance spaces. Here’s a short film of the day.

Local live music charity Neko Trust will breathe life and soul into Wandsworth Gasworks. Watch our short film to find out more about the charity and its collaboration with Common Projects.
